There are many options available in today's market. You should choose accordingly to your dog's size, eating and drinking habits, your personal style and taste, and of course safety issues. For Older Dogs Or Taller Dogs
Getting an elevated dog feeder for any dog, for taller or older dogs (or both), is a good idea since it will help them eat and drink more comfortably from a dog feeder which is at a more natural body level. [Read more about elevated dog feeder benefits] When selecting a size keep in mind that it is better to choose a pet feeder that is a little too low than one that is a little too high. Your pet should be comfortable and not have to reach upward. If you are not quite sure when selecting a height, you can set your dog's regular bowl on the top of a box or a pile of books, and see how comfortable he/she is eating or drinking out of it. Play around with different heights. And of course, you can always call us, we'll be glad to help! | PET SIZE | EXAMPLES OF BREEDS | FEEDER HEIGHT | Cats - Small Dogs | Chihuaha, Pug, Jack Russell, Miniature Poddle | 4 to 5" | Medium Dogs | Bulldog, Cocker Spaniel, Border Collie | 7" to 8" | Large Dogs | Labrador Retiever, Boxer, Golden Retriever | 8" to 14" | Extra Large Dogs | Great Dane, St Bernard, Newfoundland | 15" to 20" | Whiner and Diner Black Lab (80 pounds), Bird, eats and drinks very comfortably out of a 9" high dog feeder. |
If bending causes you discomfort, you won't need to bend down as much to pick up or put down heavy, full dog dishes: the stainless steel bowls are light enough to remove for easy cleaning and filling.
Stainless Steel Dog Bowls
We use stainless steel pet bowls in the making of our elevated pet feeders because they are the most healthy choice for your dog and/ or cat. Stainless steel has been the material of choice for food processing, dairy and brewery industries. It is durable, sanitary, rust-free, and non-leaching. Such bowls will last a lifetime. This is a great alternative to plastic pet bowls since some dogs become allergic to plastic, and develop skin irritations, and/or lose the pigmentation of their noses. Plastic being porous, can trap dirt, odors and germs, which even your dishwasher will not be able to eliminate.

Keep Your Dog Bowls and Pet Feeders Clean
Whichever dog bowls and dog feeders you choose, always keep them clean. Hand-wash the dog bowls in warm, soapy water (and rinse them well), or run them through the dishwasher regularly. Wipe the top of the dog feeders often to keep it dry and clean. The dog feeder is awesome! Hazel is already chowing away. The height is perfect for her. It does exactly what I wanted it to do for that kitchen entrance area. It is beautiful and functional. The color is perfect. Michelle — Highland Park, IL |
